Commercial Machine Shop Supervisor

Primary Responsibilities: Create and review daily production schedules and adjust workflow to meet schedule requirements and minimize downtime while ensuring that work assignments are performed to manufacturing and quality procedures. Recommend measures and changes to improve production, equipment, product quality and working conditions. Use leadership and organizational skills to supervise the work of production employees to meet all quality requirements and production schedules. Oversee the efficiency of the shop to drive waste reductions. Manage quick changes in production to meet emergency order deadlines. Enforce company policies, safety rules, and good housekeeping, taking appropriate corrective actions when necessary. Maintain and supply equipment and tools to operators to prevent downtime, quality, or safety issues. Track on the MRP system daily production metrics and take corrective actions to meet company objectives. Evaluate condition of production equipment and report to maintenance any deficiencies to be repaired. Conduct safety meetings and direct report training in how to safely use machinery and follow company procedures. Monitor labor hours and overtime, approve timecards, and assist in the implementation of time management and improvement plans. Capable of identifying manufacturing process issues and taking corrective actions. Requirements: 3 years min. of experience as a Manufacturing Supervisor required. 3 years min. of experience in Manufacturing processes such as CNC and Manual Lathes and Mill and Grinding required. Blueprint reading and measuring instrument knowledge required. MRP system experience preferred. Microsoft Office and computer proficiency required. Forklift Operator experience preferred. Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical degree preferred. Job Type: Full-time
