As a Childcare Coordinator at the Excel Center, you will oversee our free, temporary, drop-in, short-term childcare program designed to support our students while they study or attend classes. Our center caters to children up to age 12, providing a safe and engaging space for them during their parents' educational journey. Your role will involve managing part-time staff, creating enriching learning opportunities, and ensuring the well-being of every child in our care. What You'll Do: Care of Children: The most important role of all is caring for and developing the children. Curriculum Development: Create and implement engaging lesson plans and schedules. Interactive Learning: Facilitate hands-on, interactive learning experiences. Safety Audits: Conduct daily safety audits to ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines. Student Registration: Oversee the registration process and maintain accurate records. Supply Management: Order and maintain all necessary supplies. Parental Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents, including monthly newsletters. Coaching and Training: Provide guidance and training to staff members, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed. Performance Evaluation: Evaluate staff performance and recommend actions as needed. Goal Setting: Develop and reflect on personal professional goals. Team Collaboration: Work with the school director to implement school-wide goals. High-Performance Culture: Foster a culture of high performance for staff and students. Recruitment and Outreach: Participate in student recruitment, enrollment, and outreach efforts. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED required; continuing education in child development or early childhood education preferred. Child/infant CPR certification or willingness to obtain. Experience: Previous experience in a childcare setting, ideally in a supervisory role. Skills: Strong communication, coaching, customer focus, technical knowledge, organizational aptitude, conflict resolution, adaptability, teaching expertise, and safety awareness. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 40 pounds. Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
