Our office is expanding and we’re looking for a medical assistant to help us provide first-class patient care! You’ll work directly with our healthcare staff to record patient histories, collect test samples, record vital signs, give vaccines, perform newborn screening and capillary blood draws. Our ideal candidate has pediatric experience and knows how to build an excellent rapport with people. Responsibilities: • Assist healthcare staff with examinations by handing the appropriate medical instrument and supplies to the physician, positioning the patient, and helping with other tasks as needed• Greet patients, handle telephone calls, schedule appointments, and answer inquiries regarding treatment or prescription refills to make sure each patient has a great experience in our office• Take the patient’s vital signs including their pulse, body temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure and record it in their chart• Obtain blood samples from patients and sent them to the laboratory for testing• Get examination rooms ready for patients by ensuring the rooms are well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature and all equipment is sterilized• Pediatric vaccines - prefer 1-year experience Qualifications: • High school graduate or has GED • Must have completed an accredited medical assisting program and a supervised externship in a healthcare setting• Has Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or other certifying agency• Great communication and customer service skills • Over 1 year of work experience as a medical assistant performing admin duties or similar role in a healthcare work environment • Pediatrics experience. 1-year giving vaccines Compensation: $19 - $20 hourly About Company: Maeville Pediatrics is a place where children can feel at home while receiving top-quality health care in a comforting setting.
