Campus Refrigeration Manager

JOB FUNCTION: This position will be responsible for the operation and upkeep of utility systems including refrigeration, boilers, HVAC ensuring safe and efficient operations at the Distribution Center campus and other supporting sites. This position will direct Refrigeration Technicians on daily activities, schedule and supervise tasks such as inspections and troubleshooting of equipment and oversee contractor coordination and spare parts inventory. RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise, coordinate, and delegate workload to technicians including scheduled maintenance, cleaning, and inspection. Schedule and oversee work completed by outside refrigeration contractors in accordance with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) programs. Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on both Ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems Ensure expectations of the department are met by evaluating and verifying performance status of technicians, addressing and documenting issues that arise. Hire, train and develop associates to advance the ongoing capabilities of the campus refrigeration team. Demonstrate knowledge of freon and ammonia refrigeration systems, PSM, hazmat, mechanical systems, electrical, safety and preventative maintenance programs. Continuously work on process improvement and department efficiency. This includes requirement to improve methods, equipment performance, overall work quality, working conditions and use of equipment. Ensure maintenance work will comply with all local, state and federal safety and environmental requirements and regulations. Comply with Environmental Health and Safety standards, adhere to Lock Out Tag Out and OSHA regulations. Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct. Other duties as assigned. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 8+ years related experience. Management / supervisory experience Strong interpersonal skills Strong problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong leadership skills High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities. Ability to understand commitment of a 24/7 operation. Must be able to perform physical activities, including lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, carrying, pushing, pulling and other activities as needed. Ability to work in cold and/or hot temperatures for long periods of time. Results oriented. Analytical skills. Office computer skills. Ability to read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Refrigeration Technician related education preferred. Prior experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) preferred. LOCATION: This position will be based out of Boone, Iowa. *EOE
