Summary This position will support tactical and strategic initiatives that require interaction and cross-functional functions throughout the organization. This position reports to the Director of Global Sourcing. This role is exempt classification, full time and can prepare employees for leadership opportunities if qualified. Job Duties Essential Responsibilities: Review and analyze demand trends to prepare forecasts that ensure proper inventory levels to meet the production and distribution requirements to support customer needs. Utilize demand planning and material planning techniques to forecast material needs and prevent shortages and optimize inventory. Maintain strong working relationships and communication with key suppliers. Responsible for purchase order changes, follow-up, and delivery accuracy. Review auto-generated purchase orders in ERP system and release purchase orders to suppliers. Maintain accuracy of purchase orders and due dates. Solicit and review RFQs both as part of the quoting process as well as on a regular basis for key products. Assist in processing returns for defective materials and parts and expedite replacement materials and parts. Manage min/max levels to mitigate exposure from shortages and excess inventory undue risks. Participate in daily QDIP meetings with production to ensure timely receipt of product and/or expedite POs where needed to support changes in customer requirements. Coordinate domestic and international freight, track changes to ETA (CableMaster facilities) and communicate updates to the appropriate team members, updating internal systems as necessary. Manage supplier annual compliance audits and work with sales team to facilitate the compliance process to meet customer requirements. Assist with process improvements and development of KPIs to enhance department's evaluation of suppliers, support of production as well as customers. Engage other departments (quality, sales, operations, accounting) and communicate as required pursuant to end-to-end processes. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications BS in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related education, or a minimum 3-year prior experience in purchase planning and purchasing in lieu of education. Experienced with domestic supplier management with knowledge of international purchasing and freight forwarding Strong written and verbal communications Expertise in Excel and Office Suite Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task Experience in Distribution, Inventory and operations High school diploma or equivalent required; relative college degree or post-secondary education preferred Related experience in international shipping preferred. Acquaintance with ERP or MRP systems Knowledge of wire, cable and commodities a plus SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES Strong analytical skills. Experience in Demand Planning or as a Master Planner strongly preferred. Keen attention to details and proactive aptitude Experienced with domestic supplier management with knowledge of international purchasing and freight forwarding Strong verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to communicate concepts and ask compelling and clarifying questions to ensure accuracy and understanding Sense of urgency with strong problem-solving and analytical skills to understand business challenges and opportunities that enable the organization to achieve its goals Strong work ethic and time management skills. Ability to work under pressure in a challenging, fast-paced environment with deadlines
