Business Unit Sales Associate Summary:--Reporting to the National Account Manager, the Business Unit Sales Associate (BUSA) will implement and execute sales strategies and programs that will grow volume and market share at the local customer level within the Midwest region. Through data driven customer insights, broker relationships, corporate visits and store checks, the BUSA will be an integral member of the Pompeian sales team. This position is fully remote with 50% travel and must have convenient access to a national airport. The ideal homebase for this candidate would be Minneapolis, MN, Chicago, IL, Des Moines, IA, St. Louis, MO, Kansas City, MO, or Grand Rapids, MI.--Business Unit Sales Associate Requirements: -- Bachelor's degree required; Marketing, Business Management or related field preferred -- Minimum of 5-7 years' sales experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry -- Experience calling on category manager levels for grocery retailers and wholesalers -- Experience in managing sales agencies (broker) preferred -- Must be able to travel to be physically present at events, stores, and business offices -- Experience with Trade Promotion Tools (i.e. Blue Planner), Power BI, Circana/--Nielsen IQ syndicated--data-- -- -- Demonstrated use of data and strong analytical skills while selling -- Strong presentation skills are required -- Impeccable professional conduct and reliability and the ability to represent Pompeian's values and passion -- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak to large audiences both internally and externally -- Excellent team player with strong organizational skills with the ability to meet sales goals -- Results driven and self-motivated -- Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively with customers & brokers -- Ability to maintain a strong work relationship with management, peers and subordinates-- --Computer proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills--Business Unit Sales Associate Pay and Perks: -- Starting pay 120k-127k with bonus and room for advancement -- 401k -- 401k matching -- Health, Vision, Dental Insurance, 100% monthly premium funded by Pompeian -- HRA -- Vacation Programs + Floating Holidays -- Paid Time Off -- Employee Assistance Program -- O-Live Healthy Wellness Programs -- Family Scholarship Program -- Tuition reimbursement -- Community events -- Recognized as a top 2023 Workplace in Manufacturing, compensation & benefits--Business Unit Sales Associate Responsibilities: -- Implement sales strategies and programs with National Acct. Mgr.--that will grow volume and market share -- Sales area with focus on Regional and Independent customers, $12.0MM 2024 Sales Budget Major Customers - UNFI MW, Albertsons Jewel, HyVee, Schnucks, Spartan Nash -- Attend sales calls with broker customer managers and local brokers -- Conduct regular retail store level checks and develop plans to implement changes needed -- Achieve company sales plan for assigned customers/geographic area -- Execute and achieve sales strategies based on correlated data and analytic driven decision-making -- Increase distribution and sales, grow market shares through effective trade marketing expenditures -- Keep Pompeian Trade Promotion System (Blue Planner) up to date with pricing, forecast, and promotional data -- Properly communicate Pompeian standards, objectives, and policies to customers and brokers -- Directly represent the company to build partnering relationships with brokers and customers -- Communicate competitive information to Pompeian in a timely manner -- Assist in customer deductions/payments promotion reconciliation, and customer service issues for assigned customers -- Interface with HQ marketing team for customer targeted programs -- Present a professional, visible image of the company and promote the ideals and values of the Pompeian organization -- Support Pompeian's environment and sustainability efforts and communicate initiatives with customers -- Ensure all projects comply with environmental regulations, and company environmental goals-- -- Performs duties per Pompeian's mission, goals and core values-- -- All other duties and tasks assigned----About us: The Olive Oil People - is America's largest national brand of olive oil, bestselling vinegars and a variety of cooking sprays.
