Carpenter's Place, a Christian Faith Based organization in Rockford that works with homeless adults and families, is seeking to add a 20 hour a week part-time Bookkeeper to their successful team. This individual will assist with the day-to-day fiscal operation of the agency as well as provide support to the Accounting Finance Manager. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Maintain various financial records and fiscal files including vendor and grant files. Process accounts payable, daily. Prepare and deposit bank transactions daily. Record daily deposits (including PayPal) into QuickBooks accounting software. Reconciliation of monthly credit card statements Assist with preparation of grant billings for reimbursement. Assist with the preparation of materials for Finance Committee meetings and Board of Directors' meetings. Assist with budget preparations for grant applications and funding requests. Assist with the annual agency budget preparations. Assist in the preparation of materials for the annual audit. Other duties as assigned. The candidate must have the ability to multi-task as well as a strong attention to detail and organizational skills as well as able to work independently. A post-secondary education with emphasis in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Excellent verbal and written communications, proficiency in Microsoft office with intermediate excel, and QuickBooks proficiency is also required.
