Addendum: The Middle Market Commercial Business Architecture AVP plays a critical role in driving business transformation and innovation. They are responsible for aligning business strategies and objectives with technology solutions, ensuring that business processes and systems are optimized for efficiency and effectiveness. They collaborate with stakeholders including business leaders, IT teams, and external partners, to define and implement strategic initiatives that enhance the company's competitive advantage and drive profitable growth. While operating within the organizations risk appetite, they achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, mitigating, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types. This leader will develop and maintain business architecture frameworks, methodologies, and standards to guide Middle Market Commercial's transformation efforts. The Middle Market Commercial Business Architecture AVP partners with enterprise architects, application owners, and technical and business stakeholders (pricing, claims, UW, product, etc.) to enable the delivery of the automation roadmap. As a strategic partner, you will collaborate with stakeholders to develop the Business Capability Roadmap, prioritizing investments, and championing innovation. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous improvement meeting the technology needed to support business capability. You will be responsible and accountable for risk management by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Managing the technology portfolio to grow capabilities for the business, doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensuring actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. Job Description Key Responsibilities: Leads development of business architecture frameworks to guide transformation and evolution of the business application portfolios and business capability roadmaps Identifies gaps and new technology products needed to support business capability. P artners with business stakeholders (pricing, claims, UW, product, etc.) and Technology VP, Architects, Product Owners to develop business cases. F rames needed investment and associated business value, estimating costs and technical resource planning for new solutions , technology updates and maintenance of product/application platforms. Works closely with Technology VP and their teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensures successful implementation of technology solutions. Prioritizes technology planning across business lines, aligning strategic planning with business and technology execution ensure smooth transition from build to run. Defines and drives key performance indicators for technology investments, ensuring alignment with business outcomes and maximizing the value derived from each investment. Conduct business process analysis and design, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions to streamline operations and enhance customer experience and seeks continual feedback loop to ensure effectiveness of the solutions. Demonstrates strong people leadership skills, a cts with courage and challenges the status quo, embraces change and models the way in working cross-functionally and collaboratively to influence desired outcomes. May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Reporting Relationships: (Org chart may be provided in lieu of) This job reports to V P, Planning Unit Operations and Transformation - Middle Market People leader : Manages a team of 5 - 10 direct reports Typical Skills and Experiences: Education : Undergraduate studies in engineering, computer science, management information systems, architecture, data science or related fields. Advanced studies (e.g., MBA, master's in engineering or Computer Science ) a plus. License/Certification/Designation: Technology certifications in IT Architecture are helpful. Project management and business certifications such as PMP, CPCU, CLU, ChFC , FLMI are a plus. Experience: Minimum of ten years of experience in P&C Insurance Industry ideal candidate will have experience in Small Commercial along with experience in Technology in such roles as Technology architecture or Technology service management. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills : Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Excellent communication skills. Consensus building, influencing and facilitation skills. Ability to interface with top management. Strong Software development life cycle and Service Management (Technology Operations) methodology experience Demonstrated ability to lead leaders through significant change , using influence, empathy, and collaboration. Skilled at operating at both strategic and tactical levels, including proven experience with technology products. Demonstrates an agile mindset and is proficient with Agile methodologies . Demonstration of complex coordination and interaction across business and technical boundaries at scale. A customer -centric focus - keeps customers in forefront of decisions, connects plans and actions to our purpose of serving clients. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to succinctly synthesize data, develop recommendations, create presentations and present to management. Comfort with ambiguity with an ability to learn quickly and thrive in a complex, dynamic environment. Ability to gather inputs from a wide variety of perspectives and make informed decisions; willingness to stand by decisions of the team; demonstrated transparency and decisiveness. Outcome driven, highly motivated self-starter who possesses integrity and a strong work ethic. Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
