The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to advocating for immigrant rights and the ability to handle a demanding caseload.Duties:Represent clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals.Conduct thorough client interviews to gather case-related information.Prepare legal briefs, motions, and other necessary court documents.Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents.Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding immigration cases and possible outcomes.Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop effective case strategies.Stay updated on the latest immigration laws and regulations.Manage multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met.Participate in client meetings and legal consultations.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the bar in one or more of the following states: Maryland, Florida, California, or willingness to gain admission.Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law, specifically in removal proceedings.Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is highly beneficial.Commitment to advocating for immigrant rights.Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.Certifications:Active bar admission in Maryland (required), with admission in West Virginia or Pennsylvania being beneficial.Skills:Expertise in immigration law, particularly in removal proceedings.Strong legal research and document drafting abilities.Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese (preferred but not required).Effective communication and client management skills.Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet tight deadlines.
