Job Description: The Department of English at Arcadia University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Global Anglophone Literature (i.e., non-European literature written in or translated to English) with a preferred focus in literature of the African Diaspora. The position has an expected start date in August 2025. Location: Glenside Responsibilities : Normally, faculty will maintain a 3/3 teaching load, which will include introductory and upper-level courses in our undergraduate programs as well as our Masters of Art in English graduate program. The successful candidate will teach courses to support the Department's required "Topics in Global Literature" and "Topics in African Diasporic Literature" areas of study, offer courses in theory and writing, and design coursework to expand our global literature offerings. Interested faculty may also have the opportunity to teach with affiliated programs/departments such as the Pan African Studies Program, the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures, and more. Faculty members are also expected to provide service to the Department and the University, including student advising and committee work . Qualifications : PhD in Literature (such as English Literature, Comparative Literature, or African American Literature) or other related fields . Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching at the university level and show potential for producing original research in their field(s), as well as a willingness to collaborate within the Department and across the University.
