Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Security & Crisis Management, this role serves as a tactical, on-the-ground resource ensuring daily processes are enforced and standard operating procedures are followed. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Management and Supervision: Oversee daily performance, shift scheduling, and staffing needs of HQ Security Staff. Coordinate staffing and presence for significant third-party events at the HQ special event venue. Strategically deploy staff members for designated shifts as needed. Lead incident response efforts, ensuring appropriate action is taken, notifying relevant parties, and completing detailed after-action reports. Provide feedback on security policies and procedures, suggesting revisions or new developments. Investigations and Projects: Partner with Security Management on criminal and threat investigations using digital investigatory tools and social media research. Complete special and ad-hoc projects, such as creating Excel databases and access control data reports. Administrative Duties: Perform administrative tasks including attendance, payroll management, and expense reporting. Maintain constant communication with Security Management to address questions, concerns, and team performance/morale. Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development, including relevant fire safety and security certifications and courses. Operational Duties: Oversee security staff operating the Fire Safety Command Station, making announcements, and acknowledging alarms as necessary. Ensure security staff greet and assist all guests, messengers, and delivery services professionally. Provide security services to ensure the safety of employees and the security of workspaces and critical infrastructure. Enforce and adhere to all IAC security policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Be available for emergencies and staffing needs, covering shifts as necessary. Emergency Response: Use force when necessary and appropriate to protect lives, property, or prevent imminent harm from an active threat. Maintain a safe and secure environment by employing appropriate levels of force, in accordance with established protocols, to address and mitigate potential imminent harm or active threats. Requirements: Experience: Minimum of five years in law enforcement, two years in corporate security, and at least two years of supervisory experience in either field. Experience overseeing projects and/or security operations with minimal oversight is preferred. Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in Physical Security, Security Management, or Criminal Justice Certifications: Physical Security Certification (CPP, APP, PSP, PCI) preferred. Willingness to acquire F01, F03, and FDNY F89 Certificate of Fitness within two years of employment. First Aid/CPR certifications required Armed Capacity Requirements: Own an approved firearm (approved by Security Management). Maintain a valid NYPD carry permit or approved concealed weapon permit for NYC. Valid NYS Armed Guard Security License. Valid 8-hour annual Firearms Training Course certificate. Skills and Traits: Demonstrated leadership traits and successful performance as determined by the Senior Security Manager. Pleasant and positive attitude with a professional demeanor. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong administrative skills with proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and similar office programs. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize. Adept at interacting with all levels of an organization, from administrative to senior executive staff. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including daytime and nighttime shifts as needed. Licenses and Screenings: Maintain current active status of all required licenses as a condition of continued employment. Successfully pass a pre-screening process, including a background investigation. Essential Physical & Mental Functions: Fluent in reading, understanding, and speaking English. Utilize speech and hearing (correctable to normal levels) to communicate effectively with the public and co-workers, give and receive instructions, and use phones. Able to stand or walk continuously during third-party events as needed. Maintain constant mental alertness and attention to detail, prioritizing tasks and following up on assignments diligently. Adhere to the chain of command and established security procedures. Capable of managing the pressures associated with high-volume public interactions, varying from constant to occasional based on assignment. Benefits: Comprehensive training, licenses, and certifications are fully compensated by IAC Salary Range: $90,000 to $110,000 The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of IAC’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
