Summary Merrimack Valley Day Care Service is seeking an Assistant Director who will work out of our Fruit Street center. We prefer full time but will consider part time for the right candidate. A good fit for a strong teacher who is ready not to be in the classroom all the time but has an interest in mentoring the next generation of amazing teachers. Must have a strong sense of what makes a classroom environment great for children. Duties Duties include: help teachers create classroom environments that best meet the needs of the children mentor new teachers help the Director and the Float teachers make staffing plans when needed help teachers plan directed, impactful professional development work with the Directors to plan enrichment activities for the children work with our Special Needs Coordinator to help identify children who may need extra support in the classroom represent our agency at various meetings encourage Brightwheel use in the classrooms Requirements Requirements include: Lead Teacher qualified At least 4 years working in a classroom (this is essential- the more experience, the better) Good communication skills, Understands, follows, and can communicate regulations Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to support and inspire our amazing teachers Nonjudgemental personality- MVDCS supports and celebrates families, we do not judge them Must be available to work until 5:30 2 days each week Nice To Haves Nice to have: a good sense of humor (our kids are hilarious) Benefits Full time includes generous paid time off package, holiday pay, tuition assistance, dental, vision, long and short-term disability insurance, employer contributed 401K, etc
