Location: Longmont, Colorado Overview: We are seeking a qualified Armed Courthouse Security Guard to join our team at the Longmont courthouses. The primary responsibilities of this position include maintaining a secure environment through vigilant observation, access control, and customer service. As an armed guard, you will ensure the safety of all personnel within the courthouse premises, uphold security protocols, and effectively operate magnetometers and X-ray machines. Responsibilities: Conduct thorough security screenings using magnetometers and X-ray machines to detect prohibited items. Monitor and control access points to the courthouse, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter. Respond promptly to security breaches, alarms, and emergencies to mitigate potential risks. Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter illegal or inappropriate actions. Provide excellent customer service to courthouse staff, visitors, and members of the public. Escort judges, jurors, witnesses, and other authorized individuals as required. Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and courthouse personnel to coordinate security efforts. Complete detailed incident reports and documentation as necessary. Uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Requirements: Must possess a valid Colorado armed security guard license. Previous experience in armed security, preferably in a courthouse or similar environment. Proficiency in operating security equipment such as magnetometers and X-ray machines. Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in high-pressure situations. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact courteously with diverse individuals. Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and protocols meticulously. Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and perform routine patrols. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in security or law enforcement is advantageous. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (40 hours per week) Compensation: Competitive hourly wage from 22.00 - 25.00 US dollars per hour, depending on experience Application Instructions: Interested candidates who meet the above qualifications are encouraged to submit a resume and cover letter detailing their relevant experience and availability.
