Primary Responsibilities: Perform Aircraft Certifying Staff duties: 80% Guarantees Airbus FAL Mobile interests ensuring that during production & Delivery Phase, all departments' involved, are in compliance with EASA PART21 G rules and that Production Organization Approval (POA) regulations are fulfilled. Evaluates Aircraft technical and configuration status before authorizing Airbus logbook opening during the Final Assembly Line Operational Test (FOT) meeting. Evaluates Aircraft technical and configuration status to guarantee aircraft is safe for its first flight. Establish and sign Permit to fly Form 20b (EASA privilege). Demonstrate Aircraft Conformity to the Customer & importing Airworthiness Authorities. Quickly assess complex issues on a broad technical domain (Structure, systems, cabin, Aircraft operation, Airworthiness, Regulations) to ensure on time aircraft delivery. Contributes actively to on time on quality delivery objectives and Overall Customer Satisfaction. Approve Aircraft Inspection Report at FOT and Technical Acceptance Completion (TAC) milestone. Establish and approve Airworthiness Directive Compliance List. Perform final review and close the QLB logbook. Approves the Technical Acceptance Completion jointly with Flight Acceptance Engineer at time of Delivery. Approves Technical Guarantees & states that Aircraft fully conforms to the Type Design Certificate and is in a condition for safe operation at time of Delivery. Apply EASA Export Certificate of Airworthiness (ECofA). Establish and sign Aircraft Statement of Conformity Form 52 (EASA privilege) & obtain EASA Export-Certificate of Airworthiness for non-EU countries. Guarantees that maintenance activities post Statement of Conformity have been carried out in accordance with EASA Part 21 requirements. Guarantee that the Aircraft is safe for operation via issuance of Form 53 after Transfer of Title (Privilege granted to a Production Organization Approval holder from EASA). Ability to interface directly with the end customer and with Government officials in a manner that satisfies customer and regulatory requirements and protects Airbus interest. Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned: 20% Support Airbus internal audits and EASA audits on EASA privileges. Contribute in Operational Surveillances. Train new aircraft conformity manager and new Aircraft Certifying Staff as needed. Actively join customer line Multiple Functional Team (MFT) meetings on aircraft complex scenarios and provide input or solution from conformity side. Guide and support Aircraft Conformity Managers to make timely decisions or provide solutions on complex scenarios. Other duties assigned by the manager. Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: Education: Required Aircraft technical Background with knowledge in aircraft manufacturing or maintenance process Preferred Education reflecting technical competence from a technical school or college program equivalent to 2-4 years, specializing in aviation technology or an equivalent amount of education and work experience Experience: Required At least 1 year Airbus Aircraft Certifying Staff experience on A320 family aircrafts or other program aircrafts. At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing or maintenance of large commercial aircraft Preferred Have at least 5 years of experience in the aeronautical field (such as design, production, quality or maintenance) Experience in Quality department; Quality Control Inspection, Non-Destructive Test Methods, Quality Assurance, or Quality Management Knowledge of aircraft configuration management. Licensure/Certifications: Required: valid Airbus Aircraft Certifying Staff qualification. Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Required General knowledge and application of Aeronautical Regulations; Production Organization Approval (POA), preferable EASA and /or FAA General knowledge of Aerospace Industry Standards Knowledge of Configuration Management Basics Knowledge of Airworthiness basics Managing or writing procedural or instructional documentation Knowledge of Problem Solving Methods (PPS, 5 Why, etc.) Must be able to work in the United States of America Knowledge of aircraft assemblies including nomenclature, serial numbers and other key elements related to aircraft parts. Familiarity with production processes and the timing of activities for planning Ability to proficiently use computer based programs (SAP, Microsoft EXCEL, etc.) Must be able to work under pressure and take sound decisions that will not compromise safety or integrity Must be available to work flexible hours Must be available to work off shifts when required Must understand the link between Aeronautical Regulations, Industry Standards, and Company Directives & Methods Must understand how Company internal documentation links with the certification of the aircraft Must be able to listen and learn Must have a positive attitude and be able to work well with others Must be organized and able to manage large amounts of data in an effective manner Must be able to say "no" when necessary Autonomous and be able to work under pressure Must be able to present the work performed to confirm compliance to requirements Must be able to demonstrate competencies required to fulfill the assignment Must understand Information Technology systems and their interfaces with one another Preferred General familiarization of Airbus aircraft and systems General knowledge of Lean Management with the ability to identify areas of improvement and propose solutions Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages): Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English Technical Systems Proficiency: SAP Microsoft Office Basic computer system knowledge Proficient typing and working with computers and databases Travel Required: 10% Domestic and International Eligibility: Authorized to Work in the US (Airbus will sponsor authorization to work in the US) Clearance: None Decision Making, Complexity: Must be able to communicate with a multi-function team, across team, country and time zone barriers, to enable decision making based on facts, inputs and risk management in order to provide a safe, quality product Organizational information: Direct Reports: Head of Conformity A320 Non Exempt: Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success: Nature of Contacts: Moderate communication on a regular basis with internal parties only Physical Requirements: Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals. Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification. Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms. Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects. Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg. Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on the shop Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings. Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information. Travel/Mobility: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time and on short notice. Able to work outside hangers in changing locations. Able to work on movable lifts at the aircraft at a height of approximately 40 ft.
