Description:

The Department of Languages, Modern and Classical seeks a part-time adjunct professor of German to start August 2024. Languages to be taught are first- and second-year courses, on a 15-week semester basis (Fall and Spring). Minimum qualification is M.A. in German or a related field. Payment is on a per-course basis; each course meets for 150 minutes per week, either two or three days per week, either Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday/Friday. These courses will preferably be taught in-person, but could be taught virtually if the instructor is based far from the San Antonio area. Preference is for faculty with experience in and/or interest in teaching using Comprehensible Input (CI) or Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS) methods, but faculty have autonomy to choose their own textbooks and teaching materials. Optional training in TPRS is available for free through the Department. This is a part-time, non-tenure track position.
