Job Summary Corporate management position that is responsible for overseeing the accounting staff, operations, general ledger, and internal controls. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and/or review journal entries Prepare and/or review balance sheet reconciliations Maintain general ledger system Lead timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close to ensure accurate financial statements Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions Analyze general ledger variances/discrepancies and suggest corrective action Analyze actual vs. budget variances, communicating results to management Oversee the production of periodic financial reports Assist in preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets Ensure that accounting transactions and financial reporting is in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Oversee filing of sales tax and personal property tax returns Oversee the facilitation of information to external tax accountants Oversee the annual financial audit Assist with the annual company valuation Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements Supervisory Responsibilities Manage accounting staff responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting Skills and Qualifications Ability to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities successfully; including the use of reasoning, communicating, calculating, analyzing, problem solving, and leading Demonstrated ability to achieve financial and accounting goals Proven business analysis and judgment with the ability to proactively the financial functions of a business Demonstrated ability to professionally develop and coach team members Strategy development, project management, problem solving and change management skills Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and issues Ability to build positive working relationships both internally and externally Ability to effectively present information to all levels of management Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills High attention to detail Demonstrated ability operating multiple ERP systems Proficient in Microsoft Excel Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting CPA designation preferred 2+ years management experience Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Must have a valid, active Driver's License with an insurable driving record
